The preview is so ugly D: If you can't see the details on the dark side, try brightening your screen.
Last minute entry for 's contest. The theme is 'couple'
For me, a couple would have some things in common, some qualities that complement each other, but not too similar that they're exactly the same.
I chose to draw technology and nature. They both support and destroy each other at the same time.
Nature creates life, provides shelter and resources for human and animals. Technology creates many facilities, and some are used to protect endanger species in the wild.
On the other hand, tornadoes and earthquakes destroy cities and kill with no mercy. Just like man made chemicals pollute the air and destroy the balance in nature.
However, they are closely related and nevertheless share the same space, the earth.
side note___________
The girl represents nature - simple, beautiful, but yet mysterious. The guy represents human and technology - rigid, formal, and complex.
His eyes are open and looking forward. This implies the way human always look into the future. Her eyes are closed because nature is unchanging. She doesn't observe anything around her.
The holding hands is a symbol of the relationship between them and how they depend on each other.
There are many other obvious 'couples' in the pic, which I won't be saying~

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. I AM BARRY EFF'N GIBB
Both the concept and the painting it itself! And the little details like his open eyes gives it even more value.
I also like the smoothness of the colour transitions, especially in the wall area.
Good luck!
